Where is your heart?
Where is your heart?
Apathy gripped you
And ripped you apart.
Where is your heart?
When did it cave?
Selfishness swept in
And no one was saved.
Empathy is not a virtue
Itβs our only hope.
Unraveling to reach us;
Hung yourself upon that rope.
Where is your heart?
Where is your heart?
Apathy gripped you
And ripped you apart.
How can you just
See and not care?
When one of us suffers
Itβs something we all have to bear.
Empathy is not a virtue
Itβs our only chance.
Hold on tight to one another;
Itβs the only way that we will stand.
The cycle
Of oppression
Maintained by
Your self obsession.
We can only overcome
When we recognize that we are one.
Our evolution
As a people
Requires us to work as equals.
If we are all to survive
We cannot eat ourselves alive.
So how fucking dare you?
I will not stand by
Watch our planet die
Watch our species die
Watch my people die.
What more does it take
To make you want to help?
Think outside yourself.
How fucking dare you?
How fucking dare you?
Believe that this life and the world all must revolve around you?
How fucking dare you.

I love the light and shade between Bryan's dirty and Emma's forlorn vocals. There are so many layers to this recording that are driven home through contrast. Plus the riffs are brilliant and get me moving. I can't stop listening to Thou and Emma in general lately. spaceman2250

If there ever was a timely album to sum up the United States in 2020, this is it. Elements of black metal, hymnals, call-and-response, sampled news audio, and Manuel's amazing voice come together to form a beautifully tortured sound.
The term 'avant-garde' is rightfully earned with every moment of this EP. mistermunn

This album hits like a ton of bricks. I can't say how long it's been since a band reached me like this, but I can't get enough. The driving rhythm, the ghostly floating leads, the haunting and direct lyrics, the desperation in her voice... Powerful. Jaycee

This album is overwhelmingly good. I've been making music for long enough and listened to too much music to not be impressed easily. This album is goosebumps from beginning till end. Completely different realm of existence of good. minerva
